This character will have the level and skill points of your team average. ![]() When you're in the Ranger HQ, so long as you have an empty Ranger slot, you can create a new character. This will permanently attach any selected mods to the weapon.Ī common trick that some Wasteland 3 players are using is to create a custom character for the sole purpose of modding. Once you're done deciding what mods to attach to your weapon, simply press the confirm button at the bottom right corner. However, the level 2 Weapon Modding perk, Scrounger's Torch, provides a chance to get weapon mods from field stripping weapons. Once you confirm placing a mod on a weapon or piece of armor, it will permanently be attached. This will remove it from the weapon before it has been confirmed. If you change your mind about applying a mod while in this menu, simply double-click the attached mod on the left or drag it back. For example, a shotgun has a Choke mod slot. Not every weapon will have the same mod slots as others. To apply a weapon mod, simply double-click it or drag it to the slot it attaches to. If you don't, they'll have a darker red tone instead. Anyways, mods that can be applied to weapons in this menu will show their normal color if you have the required skill. This is important because every mod has a required Weapon Modding or Armor Modding skill to apply it. Now that you're in the weapon modding menu, it will show whichever character in your party has the highest Weapon Modding skill. If you do by accident, don't worry, it makes you confirm your decision first. Be careful not to press Field Strip, as that will recycle that weapon for scrap. A short menu will appear with a button that says, "Modify Weapon". Then, if you're on PC, right click the weapon/armor regardless of whether it's equipped. To mod a weapon or piece of armor in Wasteland 3, head over to your Inventory menu first. ![]()
